Step 1: Roast Hazelnuts

Begin by collecting your hazelnuts and almonds.
- Buy them raw or roasted from online or possibly a local store.
or
- Buy them roasted in mixed packages of nuts, including almonds.

I bought my hazelnuts roasted, however if you get them raw you must roast and peel the hazelnuts for the best flavor.

Some of my hazelnuts were left with skin so I roasted them more, to easily flake the skin off.

Set to bake at 350 degrees for 10- 15 min.

Step 2: Remove the Skin off Hazelnuts

Fold over the edges of the towel and rub the hazelnuts inside the towel until mostly all of the skin falls off.

This also works to take off the salt from any salted nuts.

Place the hazelnuts and almonds inside the blender.

Blend until it becomes like a peanut butter paste.

Step 9: Measurements

Flip your jar upside down so the lid is laying against a piece of paper.

Trace around the lid to make sure the label is the right size for your jar.

After tracing the circle, lift up the jar and draw another circle inside, parallel to the outside circle and about 1 cm smaller.

Adding a smaller circle inside:

This is so when you lay your tape on top to seal your label it covers past the paper.

Step 10: Decorate

Be creative and craft your label inside of the circle. You can do it on paper, or digitally if you'd like to and have the option.

If you create it digitally, measure and understand the width and height of the circle compared to the paper size.

Make sure you know the size of your paper and it is the same size as the document you're making your label on and printing out on.

After you have a decorated circle, cut it out.

Step 11: Layout Tape Strips

Trace out another circle of the lid of the jar.

Layout strips of packaging tape covering the circle, and make sure the sticky side is facing up!

Place tape on the very sides to secure it while cutting it out.

Cut out the circle, so the tape is the same size.
